What are Biodegradable Plastics?

Biodegradable v.s. Compostable:

Biodegradable

Biodegradable products can be decomposed by microorganisms (such as bacteria, fungus or algae) in soils, rivers and oceans under a natural circumstance. However, the decomposition rate varies from high to low. Common biodegradable objects are papers, boxes and leathers.

Compostable:

Compostable products certified by international testing standards of ASTM D6400 and EN 13432 meet the higher standard of degradation, hence considered to be “compostable”.

What makes them different from “Biodegradable”is that compostable products degrade faster: 90% decomposition rate within 180 days. They are toxic-free to plants, and leave no heavy metals left in the soil. All of 100%ZHI’s products belong to this genre.
